Feb. 5th, 2004 02:19 pmWe had fun in Florida. Full posts will be coming eventually (and will be back dated) ... when they are up, I'll put up a note.
I WentBarn last night. It was COLD and stuff was noticibly freezing while we were there. Dancer & Rooh were doing very good Yak imitations and happy to get food (they would have been happier with more food and a chance to romp but it was too icy to take them anywhere). Dancer remembers her tricks and is still very hugable and adorable.
We distributed goodies to many of the inhabitants of that barn. Sparky was being unusually quiet for him ... he has lost a little weight so that may be part of it. I hope he is OK. (Xi? T?).
We then went back to the main barn to visit with Echo. She is doing better but is bored and frustrated with her inability to go out and PLAY. I put her bridle on and the halter over it and took her for a walk. Baby moves when she is walking. We successfully avoided being caught by the horse-eating trashcan near the mounting block, the evil doors near the parking lot, and the horrible wall (long side, near 'her' mirror) that was just waiting for a chance to get her. She did try to bolt multiple times (I was very glad I had the halter on, I would not have wanted to put that much force on her mouth but I was NOT letting her go further than necessary because of her leg.). *sigh* She would seem to relax, chew on her bit, bring her head down then BOOM. No rhyme or reason for most of it (the trashcan bothered her every time we crossed the ring between the door and the mounting block).
In retrospect, I probably should have just stood there ignoring the trashcan until she got bored enough but I was cold and wanted to get her walked before it got too late. Due to minor missed signals, Mom & I didn't get up there until around 7:00. Did get to see Chandra being lunged on Josh with no reins and no stirrups. She was doing most of the gait & speed cues, Peter was keeping him on a circle and 'splaining what she should be doing but in the nicest possible way.
Back to work with me, I just got back from dentist + lunch and had some time. My teeth are clean and have no problems. Yea!a
