ring stuff
Sep. 5th, 2002 10:00 pmNot much news today, I suspect that pretty soon I will stop the daily updates (my job will take over time again). Drat, my overseas friend wasn't in when I called.
Anyway, I told Sarah who works in my office and sent email to a bunch of friends about the news. Sarah had seen the ring but didn't put 2 and 2 together. I tagged some friends in LJ, so they can see it all.
Speaking of the ring, it *IS* gorgeous. I love it, but as it turns out, it is a little big. Chris had guessed at the size and they rounded up so it would go on, but when I wash my hands, it can try to escape. So last night we went to the jewelry store and made arrangements to swap the sapphires for slightly paler ones (which should look more blue), resize the ring (a full size, the lady helping us wanted to go smaller but I know how large my hands can get as well), and I also ordered a small ring to wear on site (since this is WAY above my station) so I will still have something while at Fest (and while the original/main one is being resized).
Dede says that Fest is fantasy, this is real and that I should be stubborn. I see her point, but I don't want to become a pain to the festival since that could cost me my job there. Besides with the 2nd ring, I will still have a ring, and it will mean the right thing to me (and there will be times when I won't be wearing either ring anyway).
After leaving the jewelry shop, we went to LoneStar since that is where we ate on what can be considered the first 'official' date (not an easy thing to decide since there are about 5 different dates that could be used).
My food was good, his was OK. The organization of the place was to say the least less than steller. Some of it may be that we got there at closing.
I noticed that when I unlocked some entries, that they got messed up. I'll try to fix them from Chris' computer since it doesn't seem to have that problem.
Tonight the plan is to get stuff for Fest Food for the weekend, go to dinner with Greg & gang, then sleep. Tomorrow Fest in the morning (without Kelley), then to Filene Center for Riverdance (and buy tickets for a concert in March). Sunday Fest all day & dinner with the group.
