Well the third weekend of the festival season has come and gone. I have now seen some shows. Lord Cromwell is positively evil in my book and the actor is doing a superb job of being positively dispicable. You see it some in the Royal Arrival, you see it a LOT on Princess Mary's Story but now that I have seen the beginning of Return Triumphant, I really can see how he moves people and lives like pawns on a chess board.

Speaking of chess, I still need to see the Chess game now that it is up. I want to catch O's show and the 3:30 scenario. I also want to catch some more of the music in the future weekends (Wolgemut, Corsairs, etc.). I'm having fun but working harder than I have in a LONG time. Some of it is how busy at work I am and that factors into the lack of time. It is worth it though.

It was deaf awareness weekend so we had sign interpreters at various shows. They provide a list of shows that are interpreted and I gave some out to people who could use them. I was very impressed with the woman who did PWNL since she got a lot of vocal expression into the interpretation. I was also impressed with the woman who did the 2 and 4 jousts since that is a LOT of names and unusual terms to get across to the people. I ended up helping her on Sunday by giving her names even when she couldn't hear them clearly from the field (esp. the gold team since they face the other way when they announce themselves).

On Saturday the Fidos for Freedom were there with the service dogs and the therapy dogs. Those animals were magnificent and the therapy dogs were so sweet! I also (finally) got to go down the slide. I have never done that before (lines have been too long when I could get back there). WheeEEEeeeeEEEeeeeEEE.

On Saturday Barchan jousted at 12 and 4 and won both (18 to 12 at 12 against Earl William and unhorsing Don Martino at 4). The 2:00 was a hugely high scoring joust 22 to 16 (given that without an unhorsing the maximum score for 6 passes is 30 points). On Sunday, the grey shire was in the lists and he was, um, not behaving well. So, he is probably being sent home for a refresher in joust manners and a break from the joust. I'm sorry to see him go, but better to give him a break now than to have him become really sour later. I also got to cheer as Sir James Grey tied Earl William on Sunday (the win was given to the Earl because he is on the home team but it was still a great joust and I am happy for Sir James and [livejournal.com profile] squire_liz.

The audience on Saturday was very low energy and very lemming like. There would be a crowd here but not there and it didn't seem to have a real strong pattern. Sunday's audience was much more lively and interactive.

At the pubsing on Saturday Jack Rackham wasn't there and neither was Zack; however, Seymour J Seymour was presiding over pubsing. It was an interesting change but I think it went well even if it went a little faster than we may be used to.

Then on Sunday, Sir Thomas Kytson was absent so Seymour J Seymour was presiding at the joust. He did a good job but it seems wrong to have his accent at the joust. I did snicker when he was describing the points for the games and stated that they don't get points for missing the target because that would be just plain stupid. Giggle

It was the last pub sing on Sunday for Bedlam and they did 2 songs (Puck's closing and Loch Lomond). And the last pub sing on Saturday for L'ensemble Cercamon who were there for 2 weekends. L'ensemble is 3 men who are very good musicians and easy on the eyes. As [livejournal.com profile] silmaril stated, they play Scottish Bransle like it is on speed of some sort.

I spread my wings a bit more and took a little more responsibility for some things and it all worked out as it should. I have questions I need to ask of people but I think I am doing the right thing most of the time and mistakes are honest and understood. I also got a very nice complement from on of the SMs to the effect of that I get things done without being obtrusive which is how it should be for some of what I do. preen
