Random Update

Wednesday
I went to a workshop through a local theatre group. The topic for that night was "Audio Descriptions" and we learned a LOT about what audio description is, how it works, some of how to do it, some of how NOT to do it, some of the challenges that describers deal with, etc.. The we read some short scenes. It was very interesting for me because I was not familiar with many of the pieces we did. I found it fascinating to see how people dealt with doing a cold reading and it seems like you are going in one direction then change it is suddenly a different one. I read in two pieces (one the two of us were supposed to hook up and kept making mistakes and restarting the meeting; the other I was a besotted idiot). Fun times.

Friday
Homemade chicken soup over stuffing is WONDEFUL when it is cold and miserable outside. We also had salad and enjoyed another episode of Angel. Then it was time to get the Taurens out and take them for a quick run (quick because I was TIRED). I also got to see some of the replay of the National Figure Skating Competition (Ladies Short and Long).

Saturday
Took the boys to the vet (getting there early so that if we ran into snow/ice/sleet traffic we would be OK). They were both well behaved. Getting Tigger out of the crate was interesting, he became a clawed octopus but no claws were used on the people so he was good. They are both healthy. Pooh is regaining the weight he lost (slowly but gradually). They are now both up to date on all their shots. They apparently slept the rest of the day and didn't eat much.

Then it was off to T&B's house for an afternoon/evening of games. We ended up playing 5 person Iron Dragon (the other group of 5 did Merchant's of Venus and a couple of other games). Our game went slow because 3 of the 5 of us were very new at the game and I made some colossal mistakes which led to major card churning (turning in 3 cards every turn hoping to get a run I could make). I had the WORST luck in some cases. *sigh* But I ended up with some money at the end of the game. Due to churning we went through the entire deck.

Sunday
Went barn (more later), then came home, cleaned up and headed right back out the door. A co-worker was having movie day at her house and we saw Man of the Year which was quite enjoyable in a slightly squirm worthy way (squirm worthy because we had 2 little kids there and some of the topics were a bit open). It was very pointed in many places. Then it was back home to more soup & stuffing and DVDs (1 Angel finishing Disk1 of Season1, then 4 Buffy's) while playing Iron Dragon.

This week
It is spring break so I have some days off. I spent several hours this morning doing some stuff around the house, getting things ready for the bed delivery tomorrow. Tonight I have rehearsal. Tomorrow the bed delivery and hopefully a barn trip. Wed. will either be barn (if I don't get to go tomorrow) or time on the computer playing games et al., maybe some more house stuff, etc. then a Comedy workshop through a local theatre group. Thursday and Friday I am back at work with a huge project to get done followed by watching skating at night. Saturday is the history faire.

Back
It is much better but still very tender. *sigh* However, I am becoming much less restricted in where I can move and how I move. Repetitions however are still a problem (i.e. I can bend over once but not twice).

Barn
Ms. Echo threw a shoe ... literally, it was in the adjouning paddock and bent to a faire the well. She is slightly lame on one foot. We aren't sure (yet) whether she has an abcess that isn't ready to blow yet or a slightly sprained fetlock or both. The hoof is slightly warm but doesn't responde to hoof testers. The fetlock is slightly swollen, she slightly favors the foot when standing but walks sound, trots just a bit off. We'll see how it goes.

I got to watch some lessons on Sunday. I think I am getting better at seeing some of what Dede (and Peter) are looking for. Of course seeing it and implementing it will be two very different things.
