I just got my preliminary judging assignment for county. I get Exhibits (I have sent an email asking Jr or Sr and Grp or Indv). So sometime in the next couple of weeks, I'll pound through the requirements for this year (having done Triumph and Tragedy it should be relatively simple).

Of course, getting up early enough to be at the judging site at 7:45am on a Saturday (during the World Figure Skating Championships) is going to be painful it will be worth it.

What is the WFS Championships? And (since I'm willing to brave the pain of American commentating once again) which channel will they be on?

The WFS Championships is the annual competition of the "Olympic Eligible" skaters (formerly known as amateurs). Each country can send a certain number of competitors for each competition based on how their skaters did the previous year (i.e. the US may be able to send 3 women, 2 men, 2 dance teams, 2 pairs while Belarus may be able to send 3 of each and Japan may only get 2 in each). I forget the formula but it is based on how many top X spots you get with your top atheletes. If you have 2, the combined total of their placings has to be <X for you to be able to send 3 the next year. http://heatherw.com/mk/sch.htm is the best site I have found for Figure Skating on TV. The short answer to your question is ESPN Are you at all interested in watching any of them together?

You know, it struck me ten minutes after I wrote that comment that I actually meant "When", not "What." I naturally know what they are.

As to watching them together, depends very much on the timing. I don't get ESPN at home, it turns out...

I do have a VCR which can probably be used to tape a lot of the competition to let you borrow. And we do get ESPN at our house...
